I woke up early today when the first rays of sun entered the room. The birds were chirping happily, loud and clear basking in the morning glory.

With more than a year in the pandemic stricken world, with social distancing and masking up in the trend, we are more in sync with nature.

As we adopt the pose of nature, we learn to be calm and listen to songs sung by our feathered friends.

Don’t they sound different? They sing louder and happier. They took full advantage of the calmer surroundings and made the most out of it especially during the lockdown.

Noise pollution is one of the major types of pollution which causes harm to all living beings. one of the main sources being vehicles; the daily commute to work, shops, schools attribute to high levels of noise.

The impact of noise pollution on bird’s behavior and reproduction has been intense. But during the lockdown, when mankind was probed to stay indoors, their singing got louder and more effective.

They found time to brush up on their skills, exercise their voice, and practice singing louder and clearer. It was like they found their song again. They chirped, cooed, and tweeted in the most appealing way to charm and engage a mate nearby.

With fewer humans to interfere with their space, they found more time to find inner peace, communicate and transmit details to a friend freely.

The effect of noise pollution on mankind is much higher with serious consequences. It can increase stress, lower energy levels, cause aches and pains, increase blood pressure and heart disease. It can also disturb sleep and impair concentration. The quality of life whether young or old gets affected in concrete ways. It contributes to global warming in a conspicuous way that affects all living beings.

It is time to reduce the effect of noise pollution on all fellow beings on earth as it will help us focus more and be aware of our surroundings. Lower levels of sound can have beneficial effects on our physical and mental health. It reduces stress and helps to remain calm and patient. It increases productivity and improves overall health leading to better sleep at night.

Educating the general public on the effects of noise pollution and developing a habit like riding a bicycle over a vehicle to the nearest shop or park can have a tremendously positive effect on our surroundings.

Part of being human is by helping others prosper. When we come together for a cause, magic will unfold.
