“When the rain stops, Peppa and George get to play one of their favourite games, namely jumping in Muddy Puddles”

It's raining heavily for more than an hour and my little ones face brightens up as she watches small puddles from outside the house. The rain stops and they rush outside to jump in puddles. The sheer joy that a small pool brings to their faces will be cherished forever.

While children do their best to jump into a puddle; adults tend to avoid it completely. Children are Eveready for fun and adventure from the time they wake up until they hit the bed.

What is it that attracts them to a puddle? Is it the refreshing earthy smell or the chocolate colour of the mud? They are ready to explore and don’t care about shoes getting dirty or their face being splashed with mud.

Play helps them grow. It is a necessity that can't be taken away from them. Adults, on the other hand, avoid a puddle completely. We don’t think it's fun or adventurous.

It helps children in their cognitive development; how to think, plan explore, use skills or techniques, cooperation and social skills. It stimulates the happy hormones in your brain.

The more time you spend outside, the more you learn to care about it.

We stay in our cocoon with our wings wrapped around our body staying cosy and warm in the world we knit feeling safe. Our brains are wired differently from a child. We see the mud paddle as a possible threat to our clothes, shoes and body. It is like we were born to protect ourselves from grime and mud and bring revelation to the entire world. Nah... It is just a little mud that won’t harm you.

Playing in puddles is good for your overall health. It helps improve mental health and builds immunity. It keeps you active and happiness flows.

“Just let go. Let go of how you thought your life should be, and embrace the life that is trying to work its way into your consciousness”. Caroline Myss

So next time you see a mud puddle, jump along with your kid. Embrace the moment and create memories for a lifetime. As long as we have washing powders, dirt will fade. Memories stay. Stay Happy.
